Today: Observations from the Hugging Face Agents Course — the piece that closes the loop from Day 5.
An observation is how the agent perceives what its action actually did: an API response, an error or success message, a changed file or database row, a sensor reading, a completed deadline. It's the environment talking back.
Mechanically, it's exactly what Day 3 already hinted at: after an action executes, the result gets appended as structured feedback into the existing message history — there's no separate "memory" being updated, just more text added to the same growing context that gets re-sent next turn. That appended observation is what the next Thought reasons over, which is what lets the agent adapt instead of blindly repeating the same action.
So the full loop, now complete: Thought (reason) → Action (stop-and-parse, call a tool) → Observation (append the result to context) → back to Thought. Nothing mystical under the hood — just a prompt that keeps growing with each cycle.
